Build Up Your Facebook Fans With a Few Clicks

Facebook likes: Why does your small business need them? Why do they matter? After doing some research, we found that Facebook fans and friends-of-fans exposed to positive mentions of your business on Facebook (likes, comments, shares) increase their spend at your business by over 21%. The more people who see and talk about your Facebook, the more money in your business’s bank account.

Last week, we focused on how to get more Facebook likes directly from your customers in your store, right at your point of sale. Now let’s dive into a few more easy (and free!) ways to get more of your customers interacting with your small business Facebook page. You can do these right now, on your computer, in less than 5 minutes.

1. Get Facebook likes via email within Facebook.

Log into your Facebook and go to your business Facebook page. At the top right of the page, you will see a button that says “Build Audience.” Click that button and select from the drop down “Invite Email Contacts…” If you don’t see the Admin Panel with the “Build Audience” button on the top of the page, make sure you are logged into the Facebook account that you made your business page with.

Then, select your email program that you currently use, whether that is Gmail, Constant Contact, etc. and Facebook will walk you through the steps to email your contacts really easily.

You can also invite your own Facebook friends by selecting “Invite Friends…” on the “Build Audience” drop down menu from above. Who doesn’t love supportive friends?

2. Get Facebook likes via email outside Facebook.

You may already have tools that you use to email your current customers like Mail Chimp or Fivestars. If so, use these tools to ask your current customers to like your Facebook page for more updates and specials.

You can also include your Facebook Page link in your business email signature, so that anyone who you email will have a chance to like you on Facebook as well.

3. Get Facebook likes via text message.

If you have a text messaging service to send text promotions to your customers, then use that to get your customers to visit your page. Use this example here: “Want more specials than 140 characters will allow? Join us on Facebook at https://fb.me/YourBusinessName.”

4. For those who have a little more time and are pretty tech savvy, put a fan page widget on your website.

Some people just don’t realize that you have a Facebook page. Make it easy for anyone who visits your website by adding a “like” button to your home page. It’s a little complicated, but if you can navigate the backend of your website pretty easily, you won’t have a problem.
